Is wall diving dangerous?

Not with depth discipline. The danger is the missing bottom: you can descend without realizing it. Stay level with your buddy, check your computer every minute, and set a depth alarm.

Do I need to be Advanced?

Most operators expect Advanced Open Water because walls involve depth beyond 60 feet and often navigation or drift. Open Water divers can dive the top of some walls with a guide; ask.

What if I feel the pull to go deeper?

That is narcosis and the view talking. Add a little air to your BCD, look at your computer, and make eye contact with your buddy. A good guide watches for exactly this.

Wall Diving Trips: Drop-Offs and Blue Water

The reef ends and the wall drops into blue with no bottom in sight. It is the most beautiful diving there is and the easiest place to drift past 100 feet without noticing. Buoyancy and a watched computer are the whole game.
