How long is too long since my last dive?

There is no cutoff, but past a year most operators want a refresher. Past five years, book a pool session at home before the trip. You will enjoy the first ocean dive far more if the skills are already back.

Will I be paired with an experienced diver?

Usually with another new or returning diver, with the guide close by. If you would rather have a divemaster as your personal buddy, ask before booking; many operators offer it for a small daily fee.

Can I do my Advanced course on this trip?

Often yes. Advanced Open Water is five dives and pairs well with a week of diving. Tell the operator when you book so they can schedule the deep and navigation dives with an instructor.
